"Echoes of past hypothesis and ideologies, considered faulty even at the time, are found in social, political and cultural debates today. I have been looking at ideas like Percival Lowell’s 20th century hypothesis that there were canals on Mars built by Martians, and Cosmas Indiopleustes’ assertion in 550 AD that the earth was flat.

The works I create are drawn or printed in graphite, silver or ink on paper or gessoed boards; they depict images with surfaces of intricately detailed mechanical and organic textures or minimal forms. Influencing the process are intuition and logic, the hand-made and the manufactured, myth and reality."
