H. Lloyd Weston: Color-Concepts-Creativity
December 16 - January 29, 2011Denise Bibro Fine Art presents H. Lloyd Weston: Color-Concepts-Creativity, on view December 16, 2010 through January 29, 2011 in our Space 4 gallery. Infused with the vibrant hues of his native Jamaica, Weston’s landscapes comprise a painterly, impressionistic homage to the simple beauty of nature. Whether depicting tropical flora and fauna, the play of light on water, or the rolling hills of Tuscany, Weston applies an exuberant palette and a keen sense of abstraction.
Upcoming solo exhibitions in 2011 include the Museum of Fine Art, Las Vegas, NV; and the Today Art Museum, Beijing, China. Selected past solo shows include the United Nations Headquarters, National Arts Club, and Ta Nisia Gallery, all in New York City; Galleria Ca d’Oro, Rome, Italy; Renoir Gallery, Maastricht, Netherlands; Roy Miles Gallery, London, U.K.; as well as Mutual Life Gallery and Pineapple Room Gallery, both in Jamaica. Selected group exhibitions include Gallery Art 54, New York City; Galleria Die Treppe, Stuttgart, Germany; Galleria Steingenberger, Berlin, Germany; and the National Art Gallery, Kingston, Jamaica. In 1989 Weston presented a commissioned painting to Her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, in London. Weston pursued independent art studies in Paris, London, the Netherlands; and the Art Students’ League in New York City. He received a B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
