Denise Bibro Fine Art in Chelsea, NYC is pleased to announce its first solo exhibition Recent Works by New York artist, Paula Elliott, on view from March 15 – April 28, 2018 in the main gallery.

The exhibition is comprised of elegant, deftly crafted works, primarily of charcoal and pastel, pen and paint on paper.

Each work is exploration of space and light. Elliott is an architect of space and nuance using color, form and light to its best advantage. The viewer is compelled to experience the space.

The luminous, ephemeral and atmospheric qualities created give the shapes individual character and an iconic presence. Elliott describes her work eloquently when she describes her motivations and manifestations:

“Originally derived from the concept of a container, a familiar and universal object in the capacity to hold, receive and deliver content, while exploring the enclosing exterior whether dense or permeable, of the shapes themselves.”

Elliott is a seasoned artist with numerous solo and group exhibitions to her credit. Including solo exhibitions at the Catskill Art Society, CAS Arts Center, Livingston Manor, NY, Three Solos, curated by Ally Anderson, Nancy Prince, Nancy Princenthal, and Patterson Sims, Austin Artworks Festival, Feature Artist, MN, Ben Shahn Galleries, William Patterson University, Wayne, NJ, Korn Gallery, Drew University, Madison, NJ. Her work can be found in such collections as Hoffman-La Roche Inc, NJ, IBM Corporation, Sterling Forest, NY, Citibank, L.A., Zale Corporation, Irving, TX, Chase Bank, NYC to name a few of many.

Elliott has her degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Memomonie, WI. She has received grants and fellowships from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Ragdale Foundation, Lake Forrest, IL, and the Noyes Fellow, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY
There will be an opening for the artist, Thursday, March 15, 6 – 8 pm.
